Giving Up!
I am applying for so many jobs I've lost count! I'm getting no responses, never mind interviews, and I just can't see what the problem is. Has the job world gone mad? Or gone away!
That's a difficult situation to be in, Gavin. You're clearly expending quite a bit of energy with each application and when you don't get answered, that energy seems to be going down the drain, never to return to help you with the next one! If you're applying for lots of jobs, it's probably quite likely that you're not targeted enough in terms of role/environment/sector to assist HR managers in selecting you to take further through the process. You can only convince someone else of your fit for a job role once you are convinced yourself. Do you know exactly what type of work you want and would be best at? What is your best job fit? If you can answer these questions and apply for these type of roles, you will be likely to get more responses. Our Online Career Manager package could help you outline your talents & skills, and direct yourself more efficiently careerwise. However to be awarded the interview, your CV has to sell you. Have a look at the tips and example CV that is posted on our CV Development page. We can help you create a document that will really work for you and secure those interviews. Don't give up - get tough and work through it - we are here to help.
